As an experienced archaeologist, I embarked on a city trip to Skaam, Egypt, staying at a private house in Abu Simbel town. the property, 1.7 km from the magnificent Abu Simbel Temples, offered free private parking for convenience. Despite initial challenges, Shaban, the owner, went above and beyond, ensuring a safe and comfortable stay in a local neighborhood. the beds were large and cozy, with modern amenities like air conditioning and a powerful shower, perfect after a day of exploring. the central location allowed for a genuine immersion into the community, where locals welcomed us warmly. Enjoyed delicious grilled dishes at Faraina restaurant nearby. A memorable stay with a blend of historic wonders and authentic cultural experiences.
